IFFT/Interior Lifestyle Living comes to the end of its journey with further opportunities ahead

22 Nov 2021

The Japan Furniture Industry Development Association (JFA) and Messe Frankfurt Japan have announced the termination of their contract to co-organise IFFT/Interior Lifestyle Living, which was last held earlier this year in October. The fair was launched in 1979 by the JFA as the International Furniture Fair Tokyo. Messe Frankfurt Japan joined as a co-organiser in 2008, and renamed the fair to IFFT/Interior Lifestyle Living, placing an additional focus on interior design.

Mr Yasushi Kajiwara, Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt Japan Ltd commented: "IFFT/Interior Lifestyle Living was held just last month, and many visitors came for business discussions despite the COVID-19 pandemic. This decision will be disappointing for everyone as the fair has been well known and loved not only by visitors but also by exhibitors. However, both JFA and Messe Frankfurt Japan will continue to work hard for the interior design industry. In order to fit the needs of the many stakeholders in the market different, new and exciting elements will be introduced to Interior Lifestyle Tokyo in June."

Messe Frankfurt retains its commitment to the interior design industry
With an international network of five trade fairs focusing on interior design, tableware, gifts and home décor, Messe Frankfurt remains a leading provider of trade fairs for the entire living space. In Asia, the company’s Interior Lifestyle series includes editions that take place in Tokyo, Shanghai and Mumbai.

The final edition of IFFT/Interior Lifestyle Living welcomed 300 exhibitors and 11,147 visitors. The next Interior Lifestyle Tokyo will be held from 1 – 3 June 2022 at the Tokyo Big Sight West Hall.
